Yes, somewhat successful and some are not. I've tried a couple of those dating sites, the ones that you can easily download on your smartphones. Right then, I even tried using online sites using webcam on my PC but luckily now you can easily choose your date in one push of the thumb on your smartphones. I'd rather let myself go crazy and discover new dating apps than taking recommendations from my friends.

I think recommendations from friends is still better because at least in that way, I know that the people they will recommend are kind and trustworthy. Unlike in dating apps wherein some people can fake their identity as well as their personality.

I prefer finding dates on dating sites and apps because they are total strangers to you. Meaning, they can't have a background check on you or something. Compared when you ask for your friends' recommendations, your friends can easily tell those guys lies about your personality and they can also make up some stories which can make your potential date uninterested in you anymore.

Yes, I recommend using dating sites and apps. In my experience, those sites are more effective in finding hookups rather than just relying to the recommendation of your friends. It is also possible that the people who your friends will recommend are those who they already had dates with. And I don't think I like that to happen to me.
